Sir
they say that all things come to he who doth
wait.
However this truism seems not to apply to the long
awaited Chilcot report into the Iraq War.
So far this clandestine smoke and mirrors endeavour
has cost the taxpayer a mere £10 million.
Nice pocket money for a set of emperor`s new
clothes.
Therefore I proffer my own analysis which is completely
gratis.
George Bush wanted to enlist help to avenge the Al qaeda
attacks on his country.
He perversely decided to bomb Iraq although the al qaeda
attacks had not come from Saddam Hussein.
He approached his pal Tony Blair who was seated at the dinner
table with a jolly "Yo Blair" and a slap on the back.
Tony Blair then had to consult his oracle of the dark arts of
spin doctoring, namely Aleister Campbell.
The wise sage of spin proffered the wise words of "go for
it".
The master of spin thus sealed the fate of many innocent
lives.
The resultant power vacuum in Iraq has now left a convenient
space for Islamic state militants.
These factions are in fact offshoots of Al qaeda
groups.
Thus the very enemy that Tony Blair and George Bush sought to
destroy has been allowed to flourish.
Now we have come full circle and the government is once more
discussing military strikes in Iraq.
This is probably a pointless exercise as Jihad is an ideology
that is present worldwide and not confined to one country or
"state".
