Appalling attitude to the election of Labour leader
Appalling attitude to the election of Labour leader
/
WHEN Ed Miliband was Leader of the Labour Party he changed the rules regarding the election of the Labour leader.
The new rules allow members of any political party to vote for the Labour leader.
Certain members of the party are now cursing Ed Miliband for this piece of brilliance.
This new rule explains why scores of members from other political persuasions have been voting in the leadership contest.
So far 1,900 members of the Green Party have voted, presumably because of Trident policy and anti-austerity economic reasons.
I suspect that the UKIP members who have have voted did so because of Jeremy Corbyn’s Eurosceptic views.
Since the new rules allow non-members to vote I am puzzled by Harriet Harman’s response.
This acting leader has declared that all non-members votes will be
disallowed and even Labour supporters have had their votes thrown out on
a spurious pretext.
Her attitude is appalling.
I am highly suspicious of Liz Kendall’s strangely confident attitude, despite her low ranking in the contest.
