Amanda Knox is Innocent

Amanda Knox is Innocent

Sir
as a postgrad. criminologist I have recently been researching gendered justice and the differential treatment often meted out to women who are portrayed as doubly deviant by a patriarchal sentencing culture.
Often women are sexualised in a babes behind bars fashion and given such huge  coverage by a media keen to sell newspapers that their trial becomes seriously prejudiced . This scenario has occurred in the Amanda`s Knox case which has degenerated into a witch hunt. It suits a lot of people to believe that she is guilty as a lot of money has been made out of her as a media subject. Her trial in Italy was completely prejudiced as a cartoon in the media had already appeared showing the murder with three people present.
I believe that she is totally innocent for numerous reasons, not least the forensic evidence which completely removes her from the crime scene. Her case was badly presented the first time, focussing on emotional appeals to the judge instead of presenting the hard facts.

Some of these facts are as follows:
1. The main suspect ,Rudy Guede had recently been apprehended twice armed with a knife having broken into a school and an office to steal laptops.
2. Guede gained entrance on both occasions via a window he had smashed with a rock.
3.In the Knox case a window was similarly smashed with a rock in an adjacent room to Meredith`s room.
4. The Italian Judge decided that this was a "staged break in" by Knox and Sollecito.
5.A criminologist would think otherwise. This clearly was a genuine break in by a drug dealer looking for money.
6.The Italian Judge says the motive for murder is baffling but probably has sexual satanic undertones.
7. Wrong again; there is a clear motive of THEFT as Rudy Guede left his fingerprints on Meredith`s handbag and also stole 300 Euros from it.
8. At around 10 o clock in the evening Meredith noticed the missing money and tried to phone her bank .(evidence found on her phone records). Guede is in the bathroom at this point using the lavatory(evidence later found).
9.Between 10 and 11 pm. she is murdered and raped, by Rudy Guede.
10. He takes her mobile phones and throws them in a neighbour`s garden where they are later found.
11.He then runs away to Germany: another indication of guilt.
12.He says in his police statement that he left the front door open
13. Amanda Knox states that when she arrived at the murder house the front door was wide open, arousing her suspicions.
14,Amanda hardly knew Guede and could not have conferred with him. Therefore she is telling the truth about the wide open door.
15. Meredith`s door was locked from the outside by the killer and therefore these keys need to be found as they will provide crucial DNA evidence.
 16. Guede said that he had consensual sex with Meredith on a date arranged previously at the Halloween party. Witnesses said he was not at the Halloween party and did not meet Meredith. It was clearly a rape.
17. Guede stated that he returned to the room to find Sollecito stabbing Meredith. This is clearly an amateurish attempt to frame another man for his heinous crime. Amazingly the prosecution fell for this shabby lie resulting in Sollecito`s arrest.
18. If Guede`s story is true why did he not call an ambulance??

To conclude, two innocent people have been wrongly incarcerated and received longer sentences than the real culprit who is only serving sixteen years.
The trial to date has been an absolute shambles and is reminiscent of the days of the Witch Finder General and the Malleus Maleficarum,
I have said a prayer for her in my local church in Oxford

  1. Hi Susan. Welcome to the Knox case! I agree with what you wrote regarding the crazy leaps of logic from the judge.

  2. I agree with you, too. I think you have the time line wrong in a couple of places, though. Guede was in the bathroom when Meredith came home. That's why he didn't flush. The main door was double keyed so Guede could not get out without Meredith's key unless he went back out the window. He confronted Meredith both to steal her money but also to get the key so he wouldn't have to climb back down. That was how the rape and murder occurred. Meredith was fully clothed when she was murdered. Guede undressed her after he killed her. There are two bathrooms in the flat as well. Filomena & Laura shared the large bathroom which Guede used. He washed the knife in Amanda & Meredith's small bathroom. That's why Amanda did not see the feces in the toilet until she noticed the broken window after her shower and started looking around to understand what had happened.

  3. The evidence against Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito is overwhelming. They gave completely different accounts of where they were, who they were with and what they were doing on the night of the murder. Neither Knox nor Sollecito have credible alibis despite three attempts each. All the other people who were questioned had one credible alibi that could be verified. Innocent people don't give multiple conflicting alibis and lie repeatedly to the police.

The DNA didn't miraculously deposit itself in the most incriminating of places.

An abundant amount of Raffaele Sollecito's DNA was found on Meredith's bra clasp. His DNA was identified by two separate DNA tests. Of the 17 loci tested in the sample, Sollecito’s profile matched 17 out of 17.

According to Sollecito's forensic expert, Professor Vinci, Knox's DNA was on Meredith's bra.

Amanda Knox's DNA was found on the handle of the double DNA knife and a number of independent forensic experts - Dr. Patrizia Stefanoni, Dr. Renato Biondo and Professor Francesca Torricelli - categorically stated that Meredith’s DNA was on the blade. Sollecito knew that Meredith’s DNA was on the blade which is why he twice lied about accidentally pricking her hand whilst cooking.

There were five instances of Knox's DNA mixed with Meredith's blood in three different locations in the cottage.

Knox tracked Meredith's blood into the bathroom, the hallway, her room and Filomena's room, where the break-in was staged. Knox's DNA and Meredith's blood was found mixed together in Filomena's room, in a bare bloody footprint in the hallway and in three places in the bathroom.

Rudy Guede's bloody footprints led straight out of Meredith's room and out of the house. This means that he didn't stage the break-in in Filomena's room or go into the blood-spattered bathroom after Meredith had been stabbed.

The bloody footprint on the blue bathmat in the bathroom matched the precise characteristics of Sollecito’s foot, but couldn’t possibly belong to Guede. Knox's and Sollecito's bare bloody footprints were revealed by luminol in the hallway.

It's not a coincidence that the three people - Knox, Sollecito and Guede - who kept telling the police a pack of lies are all implicated by the DNA and forensic evidence.

Amanda Knox voluntarily admitted that she was involved in Meredith's murder in her handwritten note to the police on 6 November 2007. After she was informed that Sollecito was no longer providing her with an alibi, she stated on at least four separate occasions that she was at the cottage when Meredith was killed. At the trial, Sollecito refused to corroborate Knox's alibi that she was at his apartment.

Knox accused an innocent man, Diya Lumumba, of murdering Meredith despite the fact she knew he was completely innocent. She didn't recant her false and malicious allegation against Lumumba the whole time he was in prison. She admitted that it was her fault that Lumumba was in prison in an intercepted conversation with her mother on 10 November 2007.
